Pollifax realizes her life has become tedious, boring, and dull. She is a widow and has two adult children with lives of their own. The main character, Emily Pollifax, is a senior citizen who decides that she should finally pursue one of her greatest dreams – to be a spy. That is actually the main reason for its relative fame. It was first published in 1966 and is not a mystery novel, but a spy-novel. I finished the first novel in the Pollifax series, The Unexpected Mrs. Emily Pollifax (Dame Angela Lansbury) to use her considerable wits to help them escape and to save the day.The Unexpected Mrs. Both are taken prisoner and the real agent is injured, leaving Mrs. When the agency realizes their mistake, they send a super-agent to watch over her. and accidentally gets her an assignment to Morocco for a supposedly easy task of picking up an encrypted code book. Sending a letter to her Representative gets her an interview with the C.I.A.
